The incident came to light when a team led by district science supervisor Baljinder Singh inspected the school. He said school incharge Ranjit Kaur and physical education teacher held each other responsible for preparing the midday meal for the students and none of them cooked the food.

“The incharge said that she had assigned the job to physical education teacher, while the latter said that it was school incharge's duty. It was found that both the teachers often quarreled with each other,” he added.

During inspection at Government Middle School, Vara, one of the four teachers reportedly turned up late for duty at 9.25am. “There are only 30 students in the school,” he said.

We have submitted the report to the DGSE for further action, he said.
