Two booked for posing police and taking bribe

After receiving information that two persons had taken Rs 3 lakh on the name of police for providing bail to an accused, the Fatehgarh Sahib police today arrested a government employee. The police are conducting raids to arrest his other accomplice.

After receiving information that two persons had taken Rs 3 lakh on the name of police for providing bail to an accused, the Fatehgarh Sahib police today arrested a government employee. The police are conducting raids to arrest his other accomplice.

Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Hardial Singh Mann informed that village Rurki Panch Naib Singh told the police that two persons had taken Rs 3 lakh on the name of police for providing bail to an accused.

Naib Singh approached CIA Staff, Sirhind incharge Ramanadeep Singh and told him that Irrigation Department employee Nathu Singh, a resident of village Chanarthal met him on January 21 and told him that a case was registered against him and his accomplice Jiwan Singh at Amloh police station after the police recovered 21 KG poppy husk from their car on January 16.

He told Naib Singh that police had arrested his accomplice and registered a case against them under various sections of NDPS Act but he managed to escape from there. Nathu Singh told Naib Singh that Rana Narinder Singh, who is posted as fireman in Fire Brigade Department in Mandi Gobindgarh and his accomplice Hoshair Singh, a resident of village Hargana assured him to provide bail on this case.

Nathu Singh requested Naib Singh to accompany him to Mandi Gobindgarh to meet Rana Narinder Singh and his accomplice. Naib Singh agreed to go with him in his Jeep and met both the persons there. Both were in a car and they boarded in their car. They demanded Rs 3 lakh from Nathu Singh to settle his case and Nathu Singh paid this amount to them.
