Two dead, 10 injured in Jalandhar bus accident

Two persons, including the bus driver, were killed and 10 injured in a an accident near the Choggiti chowk on the Jalandhar-Amritsar national highway on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, the Punjab Roadways bus hit a tipper, which had broken down in the middle of the road last night due to a broken axle, after the driver lost control due to stray cattle on the road.

Police and locals engaged in rescue work in Jalandhar on Wednesday.

The impact of the collision was so strong that driver died on the spot. The front of the bus has been completely damaged.

The accident occurred at 8am.

The injured are being treated at the Jalandhar civil hospital.

Locals and police rushed to the spot and have since been engaged in rescue work.
