An undertrial was killed in a fight over bed at the Central jail here on Tuesday.

An undertrial was killed in a fight over bed at the Central jail here on Tuesday.

After a complaint by jail authorities, police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) against Kiran Kumar who is already facing several charges. (Representative image)

Sources said the deceased, identified as Swaran Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran, was booked under the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Police said an argument took place Swaran Singh and another undertrial Kiran Kumar over bed. After a heated exchange of words, the duo came to blows following which Swaran Singh collapsed and died.

After a complaint by jail authorities, police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) against Kiran Kumar who is already facing several charges.
