University hosts Punjabi language development conference

To discuss the rise of Punjabi language on the global circuit, the department of Punjabi language development at Punjabi University has organized a three day conference titled '31st International Punjabi Development Conference' here on Wednesday.

To discuss the rise of Punjabi language on the global circuit, the department of Punjabi language development at Punjabi University has organized a three day conference titled '31st International Punjabi Development Conference' here on Wednesday.

Member of the upper house in the parliament and senior akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa inaugurated the conference and threw light on the rich heritage of Punjab. He said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is an invaluable example of punjabi literature, which was contributed by six Gurus and number of saints with their eternal experience of life.

'Bhappa Jee de naal naal', a book written by Harshinder Kaur, daughter of renowned Punjabi writer and professor Pritam Singh was launched on the first day of the conference.

Vice chancellor Jaspal Singh also spoke about the deep rooted values of Punjabi culture. He said that in the present context, there is dire need to emphasise the glory of Punjabi culture and language. He urged the people present to promote their culture.
Other dignitaries presented the findings of their researches. Delegates from other universities also took part in it.
