Roadside vendors can be seen selling eatables from unhygienic conditions and buyers comprise mostly schoolchildren.

These vendors do a brisk business near schools as students make a beeline to buy cut-fruits, ice-cream and other food items.

Area around bus stand is full of street vendors selling food items from unhygienic conditions.
"There is no check on the quality of food. Vendors display food items like toys. They are playing with the lives of people," said Gurmeet, a passenger.

District health officer Daljit Singh said the department had already ordered that eatables should be properly covered. "Our teams conduct raids from time to time to check this practice," he said.
