Verdict in Harpreet murder soon

The verdict in the high-profile murder case of Harpreet Kaur, daughter of former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief, Bibi Jagir Kaur is likely to be out soon.

The verdict in the high-profile murder case of Harpreet Kaur, daughter of former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief, Bibi Jagir Kaur is likely to be out soon.

Setting a deadline to produce any special judgment on record, special judge (CBI) Balbir Singh said that if no evidence is placed on record, the case will be closed for judgment.

The main accused in the case Bibi Jagir Kaur and a co-accused Nishan Singh was not present in the court on Friday as they were exempted from personal hearing. Other accused Paramjit Singh Raipur etc. were present at the proceedings.

The next date of hearing has been fixed for March 12. Harpreet Kaur, 22 was allegedly poisoned to death on April 20, 2000 after she married Kamaljit Singh against the wishes of her mother, Bibi Jagir Kaur, the SGPC chief then.
