"Bank officials had sought a month to settle our claims, but nothing has happened even as the time has lapsed," said a locker holder Asha Rani, while addressing the protestors.

She alleged that the robbery resulted due to lax security arrangements of the bank. The protesters camped in front of the bank premises in Reru and banking oerations sufferred for at least two hours.

Another victim Joginder Singh said that their agitation would be intensified, if an announcement on compensation was not made soon.

"We are making efforts to track down the accused involved in the robbery," ADCP Harpreet Mandher said, adding that the police had no solid lead in the case as yet.
