Telling them to avoid sitting in their offices, Vij asked them to submit a report of their findings, while presiding over meetings with senior officials of the departments.

Vij, who was interacting with mediapersons, further said that he would himself conduct field visits to verify the reports submitted to him. Feedback will also be sought from party workers and checking teams, he said.

"Officials found neglecting their duties will not be spared," said Vij.

When asked about the new government's slow pace of working, he said that it "will work like a doctor, diagnosing the patient before administering treatment".

Since earlier governments were not effective, employees had developed a habit of not performing duties. It is Haryana government's priority to make employees accountable, he added.

Referring to Haryana' youth swaying towards drugs, Vij said he had asked police officials to constitute special teams to curb the menace.
