Launching an offensive against Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh for counting his achievements on the eve of completion of one-year in office, the Opposition Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Tuesday asked him instead of harping on his government's achievements, he should clear the air on the allegations levelled against him.
Contrary to the Congress celebrating its one-year of achievements, the BJP termed the Congress government a failure on all fronts. Rebutting the Congress' claims, the Opposition announced that it would submit a chargesheet against the Virbhadra-led Congress government to the governor on Wednesday.
Addressing mediapersons here, BJP state general secretary Randhir Sharma said the decision to come out with a chargesheet was taken a month ago following which a committee was formed. “We will be taking the chargesheet to the public to expose the wrongdoings and corruption of this government,” he said.
He accused the chief minister of having failed to come out clean on the identity of Vakamullaha, in whose company his family had stake.
He dared the CM to answer the public at the Hamirpur rally on Wednesday over the allegations levelled against him in connection with Vakamullaha, who had allegedly provided him and his family a loan of Rs 7 core.
He questioned the chief minister's claims of achievements were on paper with fraud figures, whereas nothing existed on the ground in reality.
Sharma said, “There is nothing for the government to seek pride in, as the achievements have been a naught during the last one year. Instead, the government was acting with political vendetta torturing the workers of the Opposition and also transferring employees on political basis.”
