CCTVs are not the only solution. Deploying more policemen will work when they interact regularly with the public. For this, training is necessary.Most cops are simply disinterested in their job. This must change

An immediate step that could be taken is training even the policewomen. Even they are not sensitised enough to understand the problems of women in distress.

A wrong practice that has come to stay is putting cops on VIP duty. Criminals are ready to strike in such times and the police must stop giving extra cops to VIP duty

CCTVs should be installed near women colleges and schools where boys are seen roaming freely. Police must be empowered to act on its own, if it so warranted

We are quick to complain, but I feel that an immediate step that could motivate the police and help us is a less tense police force. Police must be trained to be relaxed, if we are feel less stressed

We have to walk beyond social norms.Girls must be practical and in a sense learn to live with respect. We see few complaints as people are just too afraid to speak up. A change in atittude is needed.

Parents should make their daughters mentally strong. This victim mentality has to go. It will be hard, but slowly other victims and their parents will also speak up
