In a press conference, SSP Hardial Singh Mann, informed that Gurmeet Kaur, wife of deceased home guard jawan Charanjit Singh, resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, had informed that her husband had died due to an electric shock.

Further in her statement it was recorded that her husband had returned home after his duty. At around 8:30 pm he took a screw driver and went to check the electric main switch where he died because of an electricity shock.

However, during investigation it was found that Harpreet Singh, a resident of Samrala, Ludhiana, was a tenant in the house of deceased Charanjit Singh for the last one-and-a -half months and allegedly had illicit relation with his wife ,Gurmeet Kaur. Charanjit and his mother came to know about their relationship and forbade her from doing so.

After his death, they dragged his body to the main switch and Gurmeet started saying that her husband died because of an electric shock from the main switch board.

A case of murder has been registered against accused, who have been arrested, informed SSP.
