Changing the tone about their earlier blanket support for Modi as prime minister, Abhay criticised BJP leader who he alleged were making irresponsible statements about INLD offer of unconditional support to Narendra Modi in case of his becoming the prime minister. He clarified that INLD would have to get approval from the people before giving support to Modi at the Centre.

He described the Lok Sabha elections as semi-final of the Haryana assembly election. He said that the party with maximum MPs would also form the next government in state. He claimed that there was a wave in favour of INLD in Haryana. He appealed to the people to ensure victory of all the 10 candidates in parliamentary elections and bring back INLD government in the state.

He said that many Congress veterans had refused to contest elections, while BJP did not have enough candidates of its own and it had to borrow from the Congress.

Bhartiya Kisan Union, Haryana, led by Shamsher Singh Dhayia announced to support INLD in Haryana. The announcement was made by Shamsher at a public meeting. It may be mentioned here that Balvinder Kaur, wife of Gurnam Singh, who is president of other group of BKU, is contesting here as an AAP candidate.
