One-liners and photos with catchy, tongue-in-cheek captions trended on Twitter and Facebook, and were shared on WhatsApp. A dig at Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, via the use of his upcoming movie’s title, stood out for its poignant statement against politics of religion was: “Even ‘Messenger of God’ was not able to save BJP.”

A photo collage comparing BJP’s Cm candidate Kiran Bedi, who lost her seat, and Kejriwal used a popular song: “Aunty Police Bulalegi; Aunty Se Jake Kehdo Ye ‘Party’ Yu Hi Chalegi’.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah were in the firing line too. A picture showed BJP’s senior leaders Murli Manohar Joshi, LK Advani, who have been sidelined by the Modi regime, and Atal Bihari Vajepayee with this comment: “Buddhon ka shraap kaisa laga!” (How did you like the oldies’ curse!)
