Another person has died of swine flu in the district, taking the death toll due to the H1N1 virus to 13, officials said on Thursday.

They said the woman, aged 45, was a resident of Malerkotla being treated at SPS Apollo Hospital since February 24.

Meanwhile, two more people tested positive for swine flu, taking the number of the affected to 52.

The cases include a 28-year-old woman from Jalandhar who was admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital on Monday, besides a 39-year-old male from Jagraon being treated at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital from Sunday.

Out of the 52 swine flu patients in various hospitals in the district, only 24 are from Ludhiana, while the rest have been brought in from other parts of the state.
