Woman found raped, murdered in Amritsar

In a case of rape and murder, the body of a woman who appeared to be around 25 years old was found in a secluded building in Baba Deep Singh Colony here on Sunday morning. The police started a probe though neither the victim nor the perpetrators had been identified yet.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Harjinder Singh said, "It is a case of rape and murder. Some residents of the area informed the police on Sunday morning about the body, and it is likely that the crime was committed on Saturday night." He added that the woman appeared to be from a migrant workers' family.

The DCP along with ADCP-2 Ketan Patil visited the site, and forensic expert gathered clues from a store inside the building where the body was found.
