While the police and Board for School Education, Haryana, (BSEH) have completely failed to curb the cheating cases in board exams, sarpanch Sunita of Dhanana village in Bhiwani district has taken charge, along with other women, to put an end to the increasing cheating cases.
Sunita picked lathis with other women and stood out the village school to guard the examination centre to check copying.
She said, “Students may pass the exams by cheating, but they would not be able to make a career in future. They may remain unemployed in future if they cheat now and I don’t want the children of my village to be unemployed.” Supporting Sunita, other women too came in to make the examination cheating-free.
Appreciating the move, school principal Nihal Singh said, “Sunita and other women have taken a brilliant initiative. It’s only because of them that the cheating cases in our school have completely vanished.”
A member of the flying commission, Bahadur Singh, appreciated the women and said that if other women in the state followed suit, the state could soon root out the cheating practice from schools.
Sarpanch Sunita had received appreciation from the administration earlier also for her weekly cleanliness campaign in the village. She was honoured by the district administration for involving the local residents in cleaning the village on every Sunday
