A woman and her alleged paramour have been booked in connection with the murder of her teenage daughter. The police have registered the case on the complaint of girl's father Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Rulia Singh Nagar village near Bajakhana. Kuldeep alleged his wife Karamjeet Kaur had illicit relationship with a man from the same village.

"My daughter had told me that Gurjeet would visit our house in my absence to meet my wife. The girl was badly beaten up by my wife for revealing her secret," claimed Kuldeep.

"Two years ago, I went to Rajasthan for work. When I came back, I found my daughter missing. My wife told me that she had sent the girl to her relative in Sangrur for studies. Subsequently, whenever I used to inquire about my girl, my wife would evade direct replies. I got suspicious and visited my wife's maternal aunt in Sangrur on Tuesday. There I was shocked to hear that my wife had never sent the girl to Sangrur," said Kuldeep.

"Now my wife has confessed to have killed my daughter with the help of her paramour two years ago. The body was dumped in a canal near Bathinda," he said.

The police have booked Karamjeet Kaur and her alleged paramour Gurjeet Singh under Indian Penal Code sections 302(murder),201(causing disappearance of evidence of offence or giving false information) and 34 (criminal offence done by several persons). Both accused are absconding.
