State Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Sunil Jakhar on Thursday told deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to not look into the plate of state Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh but think about feeding the poor.
At a press conference here on Thursday, Jakhar referred to Sukhbir’s statement on Wednesday about what Amarinder ate and did while camping in Moga for the local bylection campaign in favour of Vijay Sathi. “The deputy CM should stop worrying about the lifestyle of Captain Amarinder and start worrying about the people of Punjab, who are facing untold miseries, thanks to the failures of his government,” he said.
"Sukhbir is only trying to divert the people's attention to non-serious things," said the state CLP leader. "He is finding it difficult to make Akali candidate Joginder Pal Jain acceptable to people and Akali workers. Even chief minister Parkash Singh Badal did not approve of Jain’s joining the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which is why he was reluctant to campaign in Moga. He was brought to Moga under pressure,” Jakhar added.
Jakhar challenged the chief minister and deputy chief minister to explain to the people of Moga their achievements in the past six years. “Exorbitant prices of sand, gravel and brick are their accomplishments,” he said, claiming that the price of construction material had tripled in the past one year, making it unaffordable for the common man to build a house.

{{/usCountry}}The CLP leader charged industry minister Anil Joshi with lying about the progress of Punjab and quoting World Bank reports that did not exist. "In September last year, Joshi said World Bank had described Punjab the best place for investment. Even World Bank denied producing the report," said Jakhar. "I ask Joshi to show people the report, which he has not done, so far, because he never can, since there is no such report."
