Patiala district president, YAD, Preetinder Singh, in a statement said the team sent by the Congress-led UPA government to collect facts on the purchase of books for libraries in primary schools is an effort to tarnish the image of the SAD-BJP government and was a conspiracy in which some state Congress leaders were also involved.

“It is completely illegal and unprecedented when the Centre has sent its own team to inspect the irregularities when an inquiry into it was already being conducted. A number of scams have come to light in the Congress-ruled states. Why any such team was not sent to these states,” questioned the district YAD chief.

The YAD would launch a statewide campaign against the UPA government, he stated, adding that the party would burn the effigy of the state and Central Congress leaders for this move.
