Zonal youth festival kicks off at GNDU

A four-day Zonal Youth Festival of C-Zone, comprising affiliated colleges of the Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Jalandhar district, was inaugurated on Sunday at the Dashmesh auditorium here with the beats of Bhangra.

A four-day Zonal Youth Festival of C-Zone, comprising affiliated colleges of the Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Jalandhar district, was inaugurated on Sunday at the Dashmesh auditorium here with the beats of Bhangra.

As many as 450 student artistes are participating in 28 items of music, theatre, dance, literary and fine Arts. The festival would concluded on October 15.

The festival started with Bhangra followed by group song (Indian), one-act play, group Shabad/Bhajan, Vaar singing, Kavishri and fine arts.

On October 13, costume exhibition, mimicry, mime, classical instruments, classical vocal, elocution, poetical symposium and debate will be organised.

On October 14, skits, folk Instruments, classical dance, quiz, folk song, geet/ghazal, rangoli and phulkari competitions will be organised.

On the concluding day on October 15, group dance, gidha, western vocal solo, group song (western) will be held followed by prize distribution function.

Amritsar SDM Rajesh Sharma formally inaugurated the festival while Dr Gurpreet Kaur Bal, professor incharge (hospitality) was the guest of honour.

Dr Gurpreet Kaur Bal also presented her views on this occasion. Dr Jagjit Kaur honoured the chief guest and the guest of honour.
