According to the police, the clash between two groups started at the polling stations when the EVM rejected accepting votes owing to the names being deleted in the constituency.

This is because some voters possess two cards. Several people were of the opinion to vote while another group was provoking people to boycott elections.

“The brawl turned in a clash leading to head injury of one. Co-incidentally the injured and the attacker have party affiliations with different political parties,” said Indrawani Choudhury, officer in-charge of Dhurwa police station.

However, agents of the political parties posted at the polling booths complained that workers of opposition party were trying to make bogus votes.

The injured has been identified as Bhola Singh, who was rushed to RIMS for medical attention.

In another incident at Jamshedpur, JVM(P) and JMM party workers clash at a polling station in Tagore Academy under Sakchi police station. The clash between the two parties started after JVM(P) party workers complained against JMM workers trying to influence voters. Two party workers from both the political parties have been arrested.
