On the basis of the screening test held on March 27, the school did not enrol her in Class 11 and she committed suicide two days after the declaration of screening test results on April 12.

The school administration was, however, unwilling to admit its mistake officially. On the other hand, her Classmates missed her when the results were declared. Ankita and Ahana told HT, “I am happy to know her result, but I can’t congratulate her.” They said that Urvi was brilliant in studies and mentally fit. Why did she commit suicide? they asked.

Principal of the school KB Bhargava justified the screening test for provisional admission. He said the school assesses students in order to help them choose a stream. He said the screening test was more important than the board results for admission.

Earlier, DPS students had taken to the streets demanding a probe into Urvi’s death. Hundreds of students in black outfits took out a candle march from Urvi’s house at Jharudih, Bekarbandh area to Randhir Verma Chowk. Urvi had commit suicide in her house at Jharudih on April 12, when her parents were not at home.
