Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan has donated Rs 15 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund as his contribution for the relief and rehabilitation of people affected by rains in Chennai. “The cheque of Rs 15 lakh has been handed over to Nadigar Sangam which will in turn pass it to the relief fund,” said Haasan’s manager.

Several actors from Tamil and Telugu industries including Rajinikanth, Suriya, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and Dhanush have so far contributed to help the rain ravaged people of the state.

Heavy rains pounded many parts of Tamil Nadu over the last few weeks. Although the downpour has stopped and the water level has receded in many places, Chennai and its people are still trying to get back to a life of normalcy.
