Faster Fene teaser: Meet the ‘boy’ detective in Riteish Deshmukh’s new Marathi production
Riteish Deshmukh’s next Marathi production is Faster Fene. He presented the teaser from the film on Saturday which stars actor Amey Wagh.
The teaser of Riteish Deshmukh’s next Marathi production Faster Fene is out. Starring Marathi actor Amey Wagh, this is the story of a boy Baneesh Fene, who turns into a detective.
The teaser opens with a young man introducing himself as Baneesh Fene. Watching the teaser, we understand he is a detective, who spots a crime and then pursues its perpetrators one clue at a time. No, this guy isn’t a muscular person who will bash up baddies and solve the case. Instead Fene is of medium Indian build, is alert and uses his sagacity to fend off challenge. The fight sequences establish that as well. Also, Fene is really a middle class guy -- the opening shot shows him using a cycle. There is a reference to a comic book, featuring a boy detective. As the teaser rolls, we see Baneesh notice and study a whole host of clues - looking intently at a notice board with newspaper cutting stuck onto it, picture missing from a wall in a house, toys kept in a room to an open ceiling window -- nothing misses Fene’s gaze.
The nearly 1.30-minute video show he uses technology (there’s a reference to him using 4G) to solve cases.
In earlier reports, producer Riteish had mentioned how his childhood fantasy related to comic books would soon translate on to the silver screen with his next production. “From owning a comic book to making a movie on it. Proud to announce our next Marathi production ‘Faster Fene’,” he had tweeted in October 2016.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Kshitij Patwardhan, Faster Fene releases on October 27. The film is produced by Riteish’s production house Mumbai Film Company. Its debut project was the Marathi film Balak Palak (2013), directed by Ravi Jadhav.
