The makers of upcoming Tamil political thriller Paramapadham Vilayattu released the trailer of the film on Saturday on the occasion of lead actor Trisha’s 36th birthday. The trailer shows Trisha’s character being taken hostage for not complying to help a politician. She plays a doctor and the mother of a young deaf and mute girl in the film.
Directed by Thirugnanam, Paramapadham Vilayattu happens to be Trisha’s 60th film. In a special video released on the occasion of her birthday, Trisha opened up on why the project is special for her. “Paramapadham Vilayattu is my first film in the political thriller genre. It’s predominantly shot in a forest and features lot of action. We had a lot of fun shooting for this project,” she said.
In an interview to Deccan Chronicle few months ago, director Thirugnanam said, “Trisha has done action and horror movies in the past. But Paramapadham… will project her in a new dimension. When I went and narrated the script to Trisha, I had not finalised the crew and cast. She was impressed with the story and immediately accepted to be a part of the project. She plays a doctor and will be kidnapped by the antagonists’ group. How she overcomes the hurdles and escapes the situation with her intelligent and bold moves forms the rest.”
Trisha is believed to have performed all the stunts sans a body double, according to the director. Last seen opposite Vijay Sethupathi in 96, Trisha has the Tamil remake of Anushka Sharma’s Bollywood film NH10, Sathuranga Vettai 2 and 1818 in the pipeline.
