Samantha Akkineni is keeping busy these days with multiple movies in her kitty and two films awaiting release -- Mahanati on May 9 and Tamil film Irumbu Thirai on May 11. The actor took to Twitter to share her excitement about her releases and wrote, “#MahanatifromMay9 #IrumbuThiraiFromMay11. Am I being greedy ? HELL YEAH !!! #GodGiveMe #2hits.... #nopressure .. lol truth is I am dying inside”
The actor who was present at the audio launch of Mahanati said, “I am proud to play a small part in this film about Savitri garu. I have taken a risk with this film because I am not the main character, but I am proud to be a part of this film because it is a story which must be told. I signed this film for that one scene, which is an ode to one of the greatest heroines we know. I am thankful to Nag Ashwin for giving me a chance to be a part of this wonderful story.”
While Mahanati is a biopic of veteran actor Savitri and is made on a grand scale, Irumbu Thirai is an urban action film starring Vishal in the lead role. This is Samantha’s first collaboration with actor Vishal, in which she plays the role of a psychologist, Dr Rathi Devi.

The actor also began shoot for the remake of Kannada film U-Turn recently. In Tollywood, she will be working with her husband Naga Chaitanya.The couple were last paired on screen for Manam in 2014.
