After his decent debut in Mukunda last year, Varun Tej, the nephew (yes, yet another nephew!) of actor-politician Chiranjeevi, is back in circulation again with the first poster of his new Telugu film, Kanche.
If in Mukunda our man fought local politicians and his henchmen for love and friendship, Kanche has Tej playing a soldier: The poster has the silhouette of a man, carrying a gun. The image is awash with the glow of a setting sun with a handwritten letter in Telugu and a British India stamp to the right on which the soldier’s image is embossed.
The base of the poster shows a war scene. Dark and gritty, the picture gives a hint of a flashback story, possibly of pre-independent British India. Another smaller image has a couple walking in a distance with their cycles.

Directed by Krish, known for the philosophical content in his works, Kanche looks to be in line with a slew of films with nationalistic flavour that have either released or are set to release in the next couple of months. Kanche’s teaser releases on August 15.
