Model and actor Gauahar Khan signs a Punjabi film
Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan is excited about her new venture; says language will not pose as a barrier. She is cast opposite singer-actor Jassi Gill.
Model-turned-actor Gauahar Khan who starred in films like Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year (2009) and Ishaqzaade (2012), has now signed a Punjabi film opposite singer-actor Jassi Gill. Having been part of many reality shows on TV, Gauahar, who also did a Bollywood musical, Zangoora, is looking forward to her new venture. "I am excited about my first Punjabi film, which is a romantic comedy," she says. The actor will soon start shooting for the film in Chandigarh, Punjab.
Currently, Gauahar is trying to perfect her Punjabi with the help of her co-star. "Jassi is my tutor and has been teaching me certain chaste Punjabi words. Having had Punjabi friends, I am familiar with the language, but I have to work on the fluency. In fact, we shot a song recently and everyone in the unit was shocked that I could lip sync so well," she says.
Gauahar, who has done varied projects across mediums, feels you shouldn't restrict yourself from trying different things. "I take pride in the fact that people think I fit in all kinds of cinema and mediums. I am happy to expand my wings as and where the best opportunity takes me," she says.
