Suriya’s new look from NGK is fierce and gritty. See the poster here

There is a lot of speculations about Suriya’s character in NGK, but the makers haven’t revealed the character yet.

Suriya, one of the biggest stars of the Tamil film industry, is back with a new film titled NGK-Nandha Gopalan Kumaran, and it appears to be a political thriller.

Is Suriya playing a political leader in NGK?

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the new look from the film on Sunday. He wrote alongside, “Suriya in and as #NGK... Here’s the second poster of Reliance Entertainment and Dream Warrior Pictures presentation #NGK... Costars Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi... Directed by Selvaraghavan... Produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu... #NGKSecondLook #HappyBirthdaySuriya.”

While the exact genre of the film is still unknown, going by the first look poster which featured Suriya in a graffiti art form resembling the widely popular Cuban revolutionist and leader Che Guevara, it is possible that he might be playing a political leader in the film.

Contrary to rumours doing the rounds that the film could be a revived version of Selvaraghavan’s Kaan, which was launched in 2016 and dropped subsequently, sources close to the makers had revealed to Hindustan Times that it’s a new subject and not inspired by an old film.

Though there is no release date on the new poster, NGK is likely to be Suriya’s third release in 2018. Two of his earlier releases are Thaanaa Serndha Koottam and Kadaikutty Singam. He had a cameo in the second.
