On Sunday, Vijay’s wax statue was unveiled at Behindwoods Gold Medals event where he was also awarded the ‘Samrat of South Indian Box-Office’. It was a double whammy for Vijay and his fans couldn’t have been happier. The reticent star, who usually avoids attending events, made it a point to attend this event because he was chosen by an online poll by his fans.
According to Behindwoods, Vijay had a landslide victory in their People’s Choice poll with over 66% of the votes. With his strong fan base, he is believed to be the true successor of Rajinikanth, but there have countless arguments over his status. Nevertheless, he is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars of Tamil filmdom and he is on a career roll with an interesting line up of films. After delivering a blockbuster with 2016’s Theri, Vijay is currently shooting for a yet-untitled Tamil project.
