Relationship blues

I am eagerly anticipating the day when Veer will evaluate his emotions and stop philandering.

For several months, I was fascinated by Veer's personal charm and charisma. Though he was average looking, his smile and the expression on his face were very appealing. His optimism and self-confidence were always high. Our common values drew us closer to each other. We shared our dreams, fears, and goals. Even though there was no promises of love, there was an unspoken commitment... We were fiercely loyal to each other and gradually crossed into the relationship zone.

However, that did not last long as I soon discovered that Veer was a Casanova. His only weakness was to explore all possible options and to have fun. He knew how to play his cards right and was successful in getting whatever he wanted. Yes, he liked everyone and cared for one and all, only to leave them in the lurch when they got too close for comfort.

On questioning him about his casual attitude, all he would say was that he was in control. It put me in a terrible fix. It set me thinking how people use others for cheap thrills, do not value relationship and play with emotions. It was heart-wrenching for me, as I had put him on a pedestal. And here I was, not willing to compromise on my values and principles.
