Akash Wagh of Maharashtra caused a big flutter when he shocked top seed Vijay Sundar Prasnath from Tamil Nadu 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in the first round of the men's singles event of the National Grass Court Tennis Championships, on Monday.

In the first set Akash broke Prasnath in the seventh game but Prasnath broke back in the eighth. Akash took the set in tie-break 7-5.
In the second set, Akash broke Prasnath in the first game and thereafter the set went with serves.
In another upset, Delhi's Shantanu Rajput defeated eighth seed Ronak Manuja of Maharashtra 7-6 (7-3), 6-0. Saurav Sukul of Bengal also made it to the pre-quarterfinals.
