Fabregas began his club career with Catalan side Barcelona's youth team. He signed for Arsenal at 16 in 2003 and made his debut for them in a League Cup tie against Rotherham United that made him the club's youngest ever first-team player.

An injury to Patrick Vieira saw Fabregas becoming a regular feature in midfield. His first League goal had come in the previous season against Blackburn while his goal against Rosenborg FC in the 2004-05 Champions League made him the youngest goalscorer in the tournament's history. ‘Cesc’ picked up his only team honour with Arsenal that season when the side won the FA Cup.

Fabregas was crowned the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2007 and the following season, he led the side. 81 assists and 46 goals for the London side have proved Wenger's faith in him.

Spanish manager Luis Aragones called him up to debut for the team in a friendly against Ivory Coast in early 2006. Cesc also played in the 2006 WC and was a part of the Euro '08 winning Spanish team.
