Kochhar had played brilliantly till then, hitting a six off just the previous ball.

However, the delay in departure along with similar acts from three others, including questioning the umpire’s decision in a couple of cases, earned the team a warning from the match referee on Day Two of their game against Uttar Pradesh.

The team made a respectable 473 after Sandeep Raj Kaushik had completed a ton (127) and Pawan Negi raced to 82 not out, hitting three sixes.

He was unlucky to have missed a ton after last man Nitin Yadav was adjudged leg before, a decision he challenged.

While Kaushik batted patiently, taking 304 balls for his innings, Negi went after the bowling. The two put on 48 runs. After the Kaushik’s dismissal at 403, he was the sixth man out, wickets kept falling but Negi made sure that the runs came quicker.

Brief Score

Delhi u-19 473 (G Kochhar 162, S.R. Kaushik 127, P Negi 82 n.o, N Rana 39, S Kumar 4-122, M.K Yadav 2-95) vs UP u-19 83/1 (A Singh batting 30, R Faraz batting 42)
