Salman's arch rival, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is already the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi today said that Salman had met him to know about the auction procedure. Modi said he thinks Salman is a serious buyer.

The two Khans, who are among Bollywood's most popular stars, had a fallout after a well publicised spat during the birthday party of actress Katrina Kaif in July last year.

The arguments were reported to be centred around the TV reality shows they were hosting - 'Dus Ka Dum' (Salman) and 'Kya Aap Pachvi Pass Se Tez Hai' (Shah Rukh). Salman's show had notched up higher TRPs over Shah Rukh's.

It was also said that Salman was miffed with Shah Rukh as the latter refused to do a guest appearance in his home production film 'Main Aur Mrs Khanna'.
