PV Sindhu advanced to quarterfinals in badminton women’s singles, beats Denmark's Mia Blichfeldt 21-15, 21-13 in the round of 16. Rahi Sarnobat scored 96, 97, 94 (287/300) in Precision round of 25m pistol Qualification. Rowers Arjun Jat and Arvind Singh finish in the fifth position with a time mark of 6:29.66 in Men's Lightweight Double Sculls Final B, finishing 11th overall.

This is some statement win by Sindhu. Mia Blitchfedt is no small fry, and her world ranking of 12 suggests that. But except for the third quarter of the first game, Sindhu never really allowed the Dane to settle down. The Indian largely called the shots with her game, and her body language too looked sharp from the first point.
