Svetlana Kuznetsova has a chance to add a French Open title to her resume after missing out on the honour three years ago when she faces top seed Dinara Safina in the final Saturday.

Kuznetsova and Safina, who took over the number one ranking in mid-April, have met twice in the past month on clay, with Kuznetsova winning Stuttgart and Safina getting it back by taking the Rome title. Kuznetsova will try to stop her rival from claiming a first Grand Slam title. "She's No. 1 and has played an unbelievable season. And she beat me last time we played." Kuznetsova trails 5-7 in a series which began in 2001 in qualifying rounds in Madrid,” said kuznetsova.
