Sania Mirza's misery continued at the US Open as the Indian's chances of going away with any silverware disappeared when she and partner Daniel Nestor were knocked out in the 2nd round of the Mixed Doubles event. Mirza and her partner were completely outplayed by their opponents, Carly Gullickson and Travis Parrott of the USA, as they were drubbed 6-1, 6-4.

The Indo-Canadian pair who were playing together for the first time in this tournament just didn't seem to find their feet and were broken twice in the first set. With their winning percentage on first serve at an abysmal 45%, the American pair were allowed to dominate from the start. Mirza and Nestor appeared to improve in the second set but just couldn't convert the one break point opportunity they had and eventually paid for it when their opponents went up a break to seal the match.

Thus comes to an end a disappointing outing for Sania Mirza at Flushing Meadows as the Indian hopeful lost in the second round of all the three events she participated in. Its back to the drawing board for Mirza who has been riddled by injuries this year.
