Hollywood actor Renee Zellweger left her fans surprised as she made a red carpet appearance on Monday.
At ELLE's 21st annual Women In Hollywood Awards in California, she looked drastically different from what we have come to expect.
The 45-year-old Bridget Jones’s Diary actor, who last appeared onscreen in 2010, had reportedly undergone cosmetic surgery. Her appearance led to a flurry of speculation about the extent of surgery.
Zellweger was accompanied by boyfriend, musician Doyle Bramhall II. She has chosen to stay away from limelight for last few years.
Talking to People magazine later, the actor commented, "I'm glad folks think I look different! I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows."
She termed the speculation silly and said she was addressing it only because "it seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn't exist won't get off my porch until I answer the door."
She did not comment on the reports that she had undergone surgery. "Perhaps I look different. Who doesn't as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I'm happy."
