Soon, share voice notes as status update on WhatsApp for iOS
Users will be able to share voice notes of up to 30 seconds. The feature is already under development for Android.
For iOS, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will allow users to share a voice note of up to 30 seconds to their states update. The feature is already under development on WhatsApp beta for Android.
“WhatsApp is working on voice status updates on iOS beta! It will be possible to share a voice note up to 30 seconds via status in a future update of WhatsApp beta for iOS!” tweeted WABetaInfo, a website which tracks updates related to the instant messaging platform.
WABetaInfo shared a screenshot showing how the feature works on Android:
As seen in the screenshot, you can share a voice note of up to 30 seconds to your status updates right with the text status. Also, as with a WhatsApp chat, the microphone option will appear if you don't enter any text within this section.
Additionally, the voice status updates are always end-to-end encrypted, and will only be shared with people you choose within your privacy settings.
Meanwhile, on iOS, the feature may be very similar to the one in Android. However, when released to beta testers, its appearance and entry point may look different.
