WhatsApp is likely to end support for several smartphones starting Tuesday, in line with its earlier announcement that the Meta-owned service will stop working on some handsets starting October 24, i.e., today.

Any phone that has the Android 5.0 or a newer operating system, is safe. To check the operating system of your device, go to its settings and then ‘About.’
Similarly, if you have an iPhone with iOS 12 or above, or a handset with KaiOS 2.5.0 or later (including JioPhone and JioPhone 2), you are in safe territory.

The following models will lose WhatsApp support: Samsung Galaxy S2, Nexus 7, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, Archos 53 Platinum, Grand S Flex ZTE, Grand X Quad V987 ZTE, HTC Desire 500, Huawei Ascend D, Huawei Ascend D1, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G Pro, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC Sensation, Motorola Droid Razr, Sony Xperia S2, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia Tab A5003, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire HD, LG Optimus 2X, and Sony Experia Arc 3.
