Kishore Kumar was born in Khandwa. The legendary singer made his debut in singing with the film, Ziddi’s song, Marne ki duaen kyoon maangoon. His early songs include, Jagmag jagmag karta nika chaand poonam, Raahi tu mat ruk jaana and Husn bhi udaas udaas. He was the awardee of Lata Mangeshkar Award. He gave his first appearance in the film, Shikari. He was father to Amit Kumar and Sumit Kumar. He starred in many films like Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Padosan, Bhai Bhai and Naukri. He was the recipient of Filmfare Award for best Male Playback Singer eight times.
