Video: Moment when Coast Guard helicopter crashes in Kochi

One person was injured when an Indian Coast Guard helicopter crashed just after takeoff from its enclave at the Cochin International Airport Limited, but the "presence of mind" of the pilot saved the lives of three persons onboard.

Varun Singh, sole survivor of IAF chopper crash, succumbs to injuries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of Captain Singh, saying, “... I am extremely anguished by his passing away. His rich service to the nation will never be forgotten. Condolences to his family and friends.”

Group Captain Varun Singh, the sole survivor of the IAF chopper crash, passed away on Wednesday. He was awarded the Shaurya Chakra on this year’s Independence Day for saving his LCA Tejas fighter aircraft during an aerial emergency in 2020. (ANI)
