Cyclist fatally mowed down by SUV in Badarpur, driver nabbed using CCTV footage

The driver of the SUV, identified as Sonit Jain, a 28-year-old businessman, had driven the injured cyclist to the hospital but fled on realising that the accident victim had succumbed to injuries, said RP Meena, deputy commissioner of police (south-east).

Local residents alleged that the high tension wire broke and fell on the truck. The police said it seemed like the wire broke after it was hit by the truck.

Six men were arrested and a minor was apprehended for allegedly stealing two-wheelers in the city, the police said.

The Violet Line is one of the six lines of the Delhi Metro, which connects Kashmere Gate station in New Delhi with Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad. The line has 32 stations with a length of 40.35 kilometres.
