‘Very special’: Yellow turtle rescued in Odisha’s Balasore

News agency ANI tweeted the photographs of the turtle with a yellow body and shell, which was rescued in Sujanpur village.

Odia man travels from Mumbai to see father on deathbed, ends up in quarantine

After the death of his father, the sarpanch allowed Behera to perform the last rites on Friday afternoon but asked him to return to the quarantine centre by 5 pm.

90 women workers in Odisha prawn processing plant fall ill after chlorine gas leak

Senior district officials, who rushed to the plant run by Falcon Marine Exports at Panpana area under Khantapada police station soon after the incident, said no casualties have been reported so far and all of the workers are out of danger.

In Odisha, two newborn girls found abandoned in 24 hours

According to the National Family Health Survey-4 released in 2015-16, there were 934 girls in the 0-6 age group for every 1000 boys in Odisha. The child sex ratio was 953 for 1000 boys during the 2001 census.

Odisha farmer burnt alive while setting fire to sugarcane stubble in field

To get rid of the stubble, he set them on fire but in no time the flames spread leaving him little time to come out of the fire, said Basta police stations inspector Dhaneswar Sahoo.

Truck transporting cattle illegally overturns in Odisha, over 25 cows die

The cattle were being taken in the truck to West Bengal, police said. The inspector of Jaleswar police station Pradip Majhi said the truck probably skidded off the National Highway 60 at Alarpur area and turned turtle killing the cattle on the spot.
