Punjab: Ludhiana factory collapse toll rises to 2, 1 still trapped; supervisor arrested

Deputy commissioner Jitendra Jorwal said Jatinder Kumar was killed immediately after the collapse on Saturday, while another, identified as Gurminder Singh (Bunty), was pulled out from the debris on Sunday. The bodies have been sent to civil hospital for further legal formalities

Old Mehfil hotel building collapse: Owner told to clear debris under NITTTR’s watch

Chandigarh deputy commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said the process will be videographed to ensure that the removal of debris did not affect nearby buildings

Regarding the show-cause notices issued to the owner, lessee, and architect, who were held responsible for the collapse in the inquiry report by sub-divisional magistrate Naveen, Yadav said, “We have received their replies, the hearing has been conducted and we will recommend action next week.” (HT File)

Owner, lessee, architect responsible for old Mehfil Hotel building collapse:Inquiry report

Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Naveen who conducted the inquiry submitted the report to UT estate officer-cum-deputy commissioner of Chandigarh, Nishant Yadav on Monday, following which show-cause notices were issued to all three individuals, directing them to submit their responses within seven days, or face further action.

Sohana building collapse: Building inspector suspended for dereliction of duty

The building inspector, Amarpreet Singh, who was on probation in the building branch, was issued suspension orders on January 31 for “dereliction of duty”.

The Sohana police have already arrested the two building owners and contractor under whose care excavation work was going on when the tragedy struck. (HT File)
