In Bihar, CUSB has defeated Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU), Motihari, by scoring 63% while the latter stood at 23rd position with 59%. In the neighbouring state, Central University of Jharkhand has scored 40%.

The HRD Ministry had formed a committee of experts for a comprehensive paper for the establishment of a Central University of Teacher Education. The panel has recommended that the proposed National Institute of Teacher Education be responsible for the roll out of the four-year integrated BA.Ed and BSc.Ed programmes.
