Fuel prices skyrocket in Chennai, petrol thieves have a field day

With fuel prices going north, Chennai has started seeing a rise in fuel theft cases, especially in apartment complexes. Petrol was being sold at 100.75 and diesel at 93.91 on Tuesday morning.

Fuel prices hiked for first time since December 7, petrol closes in on all-time high in Delhi

Petrol and diesel became costlier by 26 and 25 paise respectively in Delhi on Wednesday. A litre of petrol costs Rs 83.97 in the city, just short of Rs 84 per litre from October 2018.

Petrol price on Saturday was raised by 27 paise per litre and diesel by 25 paise, according to a price notification of oil marketing companies.

Diesel sales fall 7% in Nov, petrol sales up 5%

Diesel consumption in November was 6.23 million tonnes, down from 6.7 million tonnes in the same period a year ago. It was, however, higher than 5.7 million tonnes demand during October.

Sonu Tiwari reasoned that if LPG could run vehicles, it would run a tube well too. He took the LPG cylinder to the field and after trial and error, he managed to run the tube well on LPG last week

12.7 per cent dip in diesel demand in July

The July consumption of diesel compared with 6.8 million tonnes in the same month last year. A contraction in the use of diesel eased from -55.5% in April year-on-year to -29.3% in May and -15.4% in June after the coronavirus disease lockdown was gradually relaxed starting on June 1.

Jet fuel price hiked 3%; LPG, petrol, and diesel rates remain unchanged

ATF prices are revised on 1st and 16th of every month based on average of benchmark international price and foreign exchange rate in the preceding fortnight. Petrol and diesel prices, which are revised on a daily basis, were kept unchanged on Saturday.

Delhi govt cuts taxes, diesel price slashed by over Rs 8

“Delhi Cabinet has decided to reduce VAT on diesel from 30% to 16.75%. This will reduce price of diesel in Delhi from Rs 82 to Rs 73.64 i.e. by Rs 8.36 per litre,” chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday.

Andhra hikes tax on petrol and diesel, says revenues have dried up

LPG cylinder prices increased for second consecutive month

Non-subsidised cooking gas LPG prices were increased by Re 1 to Rs 594 per 14.2-kg cylinder in the national capital. Prices were up by Rs 4 in other metros mostly because of different local sales tax or VAT rate.

Bengal private bus operators demand fare hike due to diesel price hike, Covid restrictions

Various private bus operators’ associations in West Bengal last week met an expert committee set up by the state government to discuss demands made by them, including a fare hike, for the survival of the private passenger transport business.
