Police hunt for drug addict who murdered sadhu, friend in Maharashtra’s Nanded

Locals discovered the bodies of Swami Rudra Pratap Maharaj and Bhagwan Shinde, 50, inside the Sri Nirvani Math in Nagthana village and informed the police about the murders.

Batala Two constables, deployed with the counter-intelligence wing of the police, were arrested for carrying and selling heroin in two separate cases on Sunday. Ghiana-Ke-Banger station house officer (SHO) Amolakh Singh said a team under sub-inspector Balwinder Singh had set up a check-point near Khatib village and during checking of a car, recovered 3gram heroin from constable Satnam Singh, who was driving the vehicle.

A Chandigarh court has sent a 31-year-old man of Daria village to 10 years in jail in a drug case. The court of additional district and sessions judge on Friday also imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on the convict, indentified as Suraj, who was arrested in 2017 for possessing 26 banned injections.

The visit by Amritsar Parliamentarian comes a day after the shocking incident of a widowed mother tying her 24-year-old daughter to bed with chains had come to light.
